Our Lawyer's stuff
---------------------------------------
Q 1: What is Telephone Takeout?
A. We are the delivery service for all the restaurants listed on this site. We take your order by phone, or internet, and place it with the restaurant. We dispatch a meal courier to pick up the food, pack it in an insulated carrier and deliver it directly to you. Usually your delivery person will be waiting at the restaurant when the food comes out of the kitchen.
Q 2: How do I place an order?
A: You can place your order here, on our website, or you may call (305) 466-9300 and one of our customer service reps will gladly assist you.
Q 3: How does online ordering work?
A: Select your zip code and then the restaurant desired. Select your items, and click "Checkout".
Q 4: How do I view menus?
A: Just Enter your Zip Code, so you can see which restaurants are available to you at the time you'd like your meals. To view menus, you can click on the list to the left, and then select a restaurant by clicking on its name.
Q 5: Where do you deliver?
A: We deliver to homes, offices, hotels--pretty much anywhere with an address, other than Federal prisons. See our delivery area map for specifics. We'll be happy to talk to you about delivering outside these areas for special occasions / events.
Q 6: When do you deliver?
A: Monday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tuesday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Thursday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Friday 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Saturday 12:00 noon - 10:30 p.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Q 7: When should I order?
A: Orders can be placed at any time, but should be placed at least 1 hour before desired delivery time. Please remember that some circumstances and/or events may require longer periods.
Q 8: Can I place an order for a future time?
A: YES! We recommend placing an Advanced Order to help ensure your desired delivery time, particularly during peak lunch times. Advanced orders can be placed online up to 5 days before desired delivery time. Click on the 'Advance Ordering/Takeout' button at the top of this page to schedule a future delivery. You may place a future order for a longer advance period by calling us during our regular hours. Advanced Orders must be paid for in advance using credit card payment.
Q 9: How Long Does Delivery Take?
A: It generally takes about an hour from the time you place your order 'til we're knockin' on your door. However, certain conditions over which we have no control may delay your order. Weather and peak traffic conditions may affect our delivery time, as well as the food preparation time, if the restaurant is extremely busy. Therefore, for public safety reasons, we CANNOT GUARANTEE delivery time, although we will attempt to inform you of our best estimate. Please allow extra time for Friday & Saturday nights and special TV events such as football games, etc. We strongly recommend placing an 'Advance Order' to help insure your desired delivery time, particularly during peak lunch hour. To place an Advance Order, Click on "Advance Orders" at the top of this page.
Q 10: Will my food arrive to me fresh?
A: Absolutely! We submit your order to the restaurant for preparation only based upon driver availability. This means that your order begins being prepared only when we have a driver on the way to the restaurant for it. Once picked-up, your order is placed into a specially insulated thermal bag to keep it hot and fresh, and then delivered directly to you. You couldn't get it home hotter if you did it yourself!
Q 11: Can I order from more than one restaurant?
A: You may order from more than one restaurant though the delivery charge is assessed per restaurant . The minimum order is still $15.00 per restaurant and the delivery time will probably be longer. It is not possible to order from multiple restaurants on-line --- please call to place those orders.
Q 12: How Much Does It Cost?
Only $4.99 for most restaurants within your delivery zone, For more distant locations it may be $1.00 additional. The Delivery Fee is always the same, no matter how much you order, i.e. $20.00 or $200.00, you'll pay the same low $4.99 to have your favorite restaurant's food delivered to your door. Of course, this does not include a gratitude for your Mobile Waiter, who depends upon your tips for his compensation. (See below).
Q 13: What types of payment do you accept?
A: We accept Cash, as well as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Cards. Corporate and House accounts are also available. If you desire to use a credit card, please have the card number (and security #) available when we call you. For your additional protection, your credit card MUST be physically present for imprint by your Waiter/Driver upon delivery . For no-show credit card privileges, please see the Corporate Accounts section. We also accept Business Checks and personal checks with proper identification if your check is pre-printed with the delivery address.
Q 14: What is the 'Convenience Fee'?
A: You are welcome to pay by methods other than cash; however all prices reflect a 4% discount for cash. The costs of processing non-cash transactions require us to charge a fee of 4% for all orders other than cash orders. This is not a credit card fee, but a "convenience fee", so cash customers always receive a discount of 4%. We feel that this is a better alternative than passing these costs on to all customer's orders. This fee can also be waived for corporate accounts based on order volume. Please call for details.
Q 15: Should I tip your Driver, and how much?
A: As with all food service wait-staff, Drivers rely on tips as their major source of income. So gratuities are greatly appreciated. Unlike restaurant wait-staff, our Drivers do not serve multiple tables. They dedicate themselves exclusively to your order. The entire delivery process for our drivers -- from start to finish -- can take up to one hour. They work hard to assure that your meal is delivered to you promptly & professionally. A 12 to 18% gratuity is customary on all orders. Our drivers sincerely appreciate your generous consideration. For your convenience, a 10% gratuity will be added to all orders over $50, and may be increased at your request. This gratuity will not be reflected on the total given on this website
Q 16: Can I Order Beverages?
A: We offer cold Regular Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Root Beer and Ice Tea in 12 oz. cans. We also offer bottled water in 1/2 liter bottles. Click on "Drinks" in the left column to order drinks. Sorry, but restaurants are not licensed for off-premises alcohol sales, but as a convenience, we will gladly stop at a convenience store for items such as beer, wine and cigarettes. An additional fee of $3.99 is charged for this service, and is available only if our delivery schedule permits.
Q 17: Is there a minimum order amount?
A: Yes, the minimum is $12.00 for most restaurants (not including delivery fees, taxes and gratuity). In some cases it may be higher, but we will inform you if necessary.
Q 18: If I'm ordering on-line, why do you need my phone number?
A. Many people like to have a personal confirmation of their on-line orders by phone, and to give you an approximate delivery time and take any credit card info if necessary. On occasion, a restaurant may not have an item you ordered, or your special preparation instructions may not be clear to us, or for some other reason that we may need to contact you. In addition, many of our customers live in a 'Security Complex' where we cannot gain access to complete the delivery without your telephonic permission to security personnel. For these reasons, you must be reachable by phone after submitting an order. You may, of course, leave an additional cell phone number for us, in the Comments section. Your order cannot be placed until we speak to you in person and once confirmed, orders cannot be cancelled
Q 19: What if I am craving food from outsidemy delivery area?
A: No problem, we've got you covered. Additional fees for restaurants outside your normal delivery zone are automatically calculated by our computerized ordering software. The service charge applied to your order is immediately visible to you in the ordering window as soon as you add an item to your order. But for quality of service, delivery areas are limited to insure your meal is delivered in a timely manner, hot and fresh. We can, on occasion, deliver outside normal delivery zones during off-peak hours for an additional fee. Large, or Catering Orders, which are placed in advance, can also be accommodated. Please call our office at (305) 466-9300 for arrangements.
Q 20: But what if I want LOTS of food?
A: We offer an affordable and no-fuss alternative for large groups, meetings or parties! Please note that on catering items, each restaurant may have their own advance notice requirements.
Q 21: Gift Certificates - Do you have them?
A: Telephone Takeout/Dial4Dinner Gift Certificates make ideal, thoughtful presents for new parents, clients, outstanding employees ---anyone who likes to eat! We offer Gift Certificates in any denomination. Certificates can be mailed or delivered to you or the recipient, along with a current copy of our Menu Book, or you can stop by our office to pick it up. Gift Certificates can be paid by credit card over the phone, or by cash in person. Gift certificates are non-refundable and any credit balance will be carried until used. Click on 'Gift Certificates' in the list to the left, or call us at (305) 466-9300 for details.
Q 22: The not so fine print
A: Restaurant hours, menu items and descriptions, and prices are subject to change without notice. Please check your order carefully upon its arrival. Although we strive for perfection, mistakes happen, and the sooner we learn of them, the faster we can correct them.
Q 23: Who do I call if there is a mistake with my order?
A: Please call our office at (305) 466-9300 within thirty minutes of delivery (even if it is after office hours) if there is anything missing, or incorrect. We will get incorrect items replaced and/or missing items delivered, or arrange for a credit towards your next order. Credits cannot be applied to on-line orders. To use your credit, please call the office to place your order. Thank you for reporting your concerns to us so we can continue improving our service.
Q 24: Why don't you deliver from every restaurant in town?
A: We only deliver for restaurants with which we have a contractual relationship. We pride ourselves on having a thorough knowledge of our partner-restaurant's menus. This would be impossible if we claimed we could deliver from every restaurant in the area. We always want to partner with good restaurants. If your favorite restaurant is not currently participating, mention us to their owner/manager, and let them know you want us to deliver their food.
Q 25: Why are there more restaurants in your Restaurant Menu Guide than on the website?
A: We deliver for restaurants all over the area. If we delivered from everywhere, your food would not arrive hot and fresh. When you log on to the website, only those restaurants within your immediate area will appear.
Q 26: How can I put special requests on my on-line order?
A: Whenever you have a special request, click the EDIT button next to your item and type your request. If you have a food allergy, please include that too. Requesting extra, or items not included on the usual menu description, may require an 'up-charge' by the restaurant and cost more. and will be added to your total when necessary.
Q 27: Does the Mobile Waiter check my order?
A: Your Mobile Waiter relies on the restaurant staff to prepare and pack your order accurately. For your health and safety assurance, Mobile Waiters are not allowed to open containers.
Q 29: What information do you collect about me?
A: In order to accurately deliver your food, we need to gather certain information such as your telephone number (which is unique to your address), your address and e-mail address if ordering on-line. Your privacy is of great concern to us and under no circumstances will we share your information with any outside person or business. We store only information for this, and future order completion. It is retained in our private, secure database, accessible only by us. So remember your password
Q 30: Do you offer catering?
A: Of course! Actually, we specialize in drop-off caterings. Please look for our catering menu and our group ordering section on our website (coming soon). For more information in the meantime call (305) 466-9300. Lunch reservations are strongly encouraged.
Q 31: Do you deliver breakfast?
A: We currently do not deliver breakfast, but we plan on doing so in the future.
Q 32: What are your delivery areas?
A: We deliver most of NE Miami-Dade County, including Aventura and surrounding areas, and SE Broward County. Please see Zip Code map for your area.
Q 33: My on-line bank statement shows a different total than my order?
A: Electronic credit card authorizations for restaurants always allow an additional 20% over the meal amount to permit the customer the option of adding a tip, or gratuity, to the transaction. This over-authorization amount is only an authorized amount , and your card, or account, will only be charged for the amount you authorize at the time of delivery. However, it may take a day or two for the additional authorized sum to be released by your credit card company. Some card processors may take as much as a week to release these funds. In most cases this isn't an issue, as funds are secured from a revolving credit line. We understand that it can be inconvenient when the funds are being secured from a checking account, or debit card, because it may limit access to these funds for a couple of days, but we cannot control this practice.
Q 34: Do you mark up menu prices?
A: Absolutely not! Each menu item displayed is identical to prices provided us by the restaurant.
Q 35: Can I use restaurant coupons?
A: Sorry, but unfortunatly no. Our participating restaurants offer those coupons to meet you in person. So save those coupons for an in-house, full service meal at a later date.
Q 36: Why can't I cancel my on-line order?
A.: We electronically transmit your order to the restaurant. Once received, they start to prepare it.
